John Goad was born 10 January 1806 in Tennessee and died 15 Dec 1881. He was the son of Reuben and Mary "Molly" Witcher Goad. John married Permelia Sneed about 1827-28.She was the daughter of William and Priscilla (Williams) Sneed. Permelia was born 18 February 1807 and died 28 March 1882. John and Permelia (Sneed) Goad are buried in the Goad cemetery at Pleasant Shade, TN with some of their children, a Goad niece and nephew, and closely related Jenkins relatives.
There is a Goad family bible listing Reuben, Mary and their eleven children. Also John's and Permelia's eight children are listed. The bible is dated 1830. John Goad was left out of publications including "CAL'S COLUMN by Calvin Gregory. Cal was a Jenkins and Goad descendant, I am grateful for all his genealogy work but I just want everyone out there to know that John Goad belonged in the family of Reuben and Mary "Molly" (Witcher) Goad so that you can find your proper Goad family". Reuben and Mary "Molly" Witcher Goad were married 3 October 1789 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Molly died abt 1855 and Reuben died November, 1857 in Macon County,TN.Back To Families Links
